How to Remove a Pueblo Skunk's Smell from Different Surfaces

We all know that the musk that the Pueblo skunk releases can be suffocating. The irritating scent will cause temporary blindness. It will also persist for weeks before it gradually dissipates. Fortunately, there are ways on how you can neutralize this scent. By following the tips that we will provide below, you can ensure that the smell of their spray will be completely eliminated.

Removing the Skunk Smell from a Dog

Tomato juice may not always be the perfect solution in eliminating the scent of the Colorado skunk’s musk from our dog. If you live in a community that has a high skunk population be sure that you will be armed with common household items such as apple cider vinegar and vanilla extract. Start by mixing one cup of the vanilla extract into a gallon of water. Soak your dog into the mixture and this should be effective in eliminating the disgusting scent. For the apple cider vinegar, simply mix one part of this with 2 parts of water. The mixture that you will need will depend upon the size of your dog. Wet the fur of your dog with the mixture to get rid of the skunk’s scent.

On the car

When getting rid of the scent of the skunk on our Pueblo car, hydrogen peroxide may be an excellent solution. Mix the hydrogen peroxide to your liquid detergent and baking soda. Be sure that you will use the mixture immediately or it may lose its potency. You should also not cover the solution since this can explode. If you have a leftover, be sure that you will dispose it. You may pour it on your drain or dilute it with water to safely dispose it.

On The House

The scent of the Colorado skunk inside your home will linger for days. In order to reduce the disgusting scent, you can use boiled vinegar. The smell of the vinegar will permeate around the house that will neutralize the scent of the skunk’s musk. By the time that the scent of the vinegar dissipates, the smell of the skunk should also be gone.

On Human

There are commercially available solutions that promise to remove the scent of the Colorado skunk. However, it is highly unlikely that you have this product in your house. No one wants to visit a convenient store smelling like a skunk. Fortunately, there are homemade products that you can use to counteract the strong musk. Dish detergent, baking soda mixed with peroxide would also be an ideal solution for your problem.

It is still better to avoid the Pueblo skunk rather than to look for a solution to get rid of their irritating smell. Skunks have passive behavior and will most probably choose to flee the scene rather than to confront the danger. Also, do not try to handle the skunk infestation on your own. Be sure that you will hire the service of the expert skunk removal company. They will be able to get rid of the skunk while staying safe from their spray.
